Forgiven
Given the gift of life by Christ
You'd think we'd thank or maybe might
Show eachother the love of one
Who payed your dues, His blood the sum
He layed his life with no remorse
Forgave pure hate and paved the course
For man to share what he lived for
To love yet nailed our sins he bore
On your behalf as well as mine
He drew on sand a simple line
That all should walk to live as He
But still his ways in us it flees
What will it take for this dry spell
To leave your heart, for all he fell
Unto hands that crucified
JESUS trampled for man He died
Yet still the love He feels for you
Goes unpaid and well past due
Just like a check you wrote that bounced
Empty your heart, His name you trounce
Maybe today, you'll think and try
To say thank you, remember why
You live today for man was given
More than deserved, to live forgiven
