Heart Of The Matter
At The End Of A Day
Boat, St. Fillans, Scotland, Photographed by Linda Harnett © 2007
When dusk fell,
I bathed in its glow,
The water, it glistened,
Moving, yet slow,
My thoughts catapulted,
Through time and through space,
And I glimpse, for a moment,
Just a look, on his face,
Just a moment for recall,
To fill me with love,
My blessings are plenty,
I thank God above,
In peaceful perfection,
I find myself here,
I am drawn to this haven,
Year upon year,
Far flung from the city,
The noise and the grime,
I sing of its beauty,
Be it only, in rhyme,
Though pretty the picture,
Mere words can't convey,
What it feels like,
To be there,
At the end of a day.
