 My today's thoughts

DELTA MOON

DELTA MOON
By a giant magnolia tree in the silver moonlight we stood
Me in a white french hand sewn gown
   You in a black tuxedo

You held my hands to your lips and kissed my palms
Shivers raced up and down my spine
I wondered if you could hear the beating of my heart

Moss hanging from cypress trees fluttered in the breeze
making a funny pattern across the lawn
The scent of magnolia blossoms was intoxicating

From inside the country club soft music drifted  on the wind
In the breeze was the sound of laughter
Love was in the air

Spoken  promises made
Our hearts beating as one under the Delta moon
At the Cotillion Ball in the middle of June
