Wood Nymph

Land of the Free

Dedicated to all troops and courageous men-

He fought a war in difficult times,
across the sea, in a far-away land.

He heard the sounds of dying
and lay in foxholes at night.
He yearned for the day to come
when everything would be all right.

He stood for America and his flag.
He came back to us, weary and won.
He stepped back on his Beloved Land
and received only rejection and scorn.

It took many years of heartaches
before the demonstrators could see
that this Vietnam veteran was
the symbol of Americans being free!

He took his stand for freedom
and now America is a better Land.
I'm proud to salute you, Sir.
Every soldier is a a special man.
