The time ticks by, I can feel it pass,
I watch sand fall, in life's hourglass.
I watch tomorrow turn to today,
And I feel myself grow old and gray.
Time doesn't slow down, it feels too fast,
I watch people grow up, age and pass,
As much as I would like to deny,
I, too, will grow up, and eventually die.
Time is a cruel reality,
Taking life from you and me,
It gives us birth, it gives us breath,
But it's also the leading cause of death.
