No Greater Love
There is no great love given by a man
than to give his life defending them.
The young, the old, and
the helpless,
pull at his heart
giving him courage
to die for them.
And for those who love like him,
who dare to speak out
for what is good and fair,
knowing that a fate
worse than death
could await.
There is still no greater love.
Well, maybe being silent in order
to spare their family discomfort
or pain could shut up
the pressures of empathy.
