Heart Of The Matter

For I Believe

I never worry too much now what life may throw my way,
I place my faith in destiny that what will be, will be,
For I believe my life on earth was mapped out from the start,
And every soul that crossed my path was sent to play a part,

I never fret about the things I know I'll never change,
Or spend too many sleepless nights recalling broken dreams,
For I believe that what is meant will never pass me by,
I can't reject the hand of fate no matter how I try,

Yet I can wish and I can dream about a world that's free,
From hunger, pain, and avarice; and lack of liberty,
For I believe in love and light and blessings from on high,
Yes, I believe the angels weep and watch o'er you and I.

I know that all that comes my way will happen for a reason,
That life will have its ups and downs; its loving and its leaving,
For I believe that each of us must have a cross to bear,
And I thank the Gods for sending me someone who's always there.
