Building a Foundation
God was kind and let me exert,
In becoming a building expert;
So I laid my foundation down,
And location to put His crown.
I am careful how it is built,
In remaining straight and not tilt;
And need to check the master plan,
While doing the best that I can.
The foundation is built on Christ,
Only the best will be sufficed;
Fire tested on Judgment Day,
Ensuring from the plans not stray.
You find out the mortar to hold,
If I had used silver and gold;
Or if I used wood straw and hay,
For mixing into with the clay.
But an expert builder by trade,
Has material of top grade;
I want to collect my reward,
It still stands when I see my Lord.
