 HAMPSHIRE'S HAMSTERS

Another tale from my extensive "Salisbury Tales" series.

Along the straight and narrow Portway...
Road do you roam...
Like creeping vines...
Drinking loads...
Of Mediterranean fruity wines...
Is so divine...
Along the six hundred year old road...
Comes the Rufus Stone...
As high velocity arrows...
Hit the spot in Williams plot.
Henry jumped on his mighty steed...
To Winchester...
To claim the lot...
Thatched Tudor cottages...
Line the New Forest...
Such pretty Hamlets...
With Gabled windows.
As seen through glossy pamphlets.
While eating pizza & Spam...
In your horse drawn traffic Jam.
Judge Jeffrey's bloody Assizes...
Will make you sneeze...
In a very rebellious breeze.
As commoners...
Are allowed to graze sows...
All year round in a complex compound.
Silchester...
Is a Roman encampment...
Of Calleva Atrebatum.
An oval amphitheater...
With under wall central heating...
Just to please you...
In a winter's freezer...
Wayfarer's dole...
Is a traditional request...
For dole & ale...
In the spring bunny air...
Is only fair...
Benjamin Franklin...
Wrote his autobiography at Twyford House.
As Alexander Pope...
Was expelled from his school...
For lampooning...
His teacher with an almighty breezer.
Jane Austen...
Lived in the tiny village of Chawton
Enshrining...
Her best novels in the village cobbles...
She was laid to rest in Winchester Cathedral.
As the choir boys...
Sing with an all mighty din...
For their sins...
Hampshire's Hampsters...
Stuff their mouths...
With aphrodisiac oysters...
From the cloisters...
Followed by creaming your muffin...
With hot steamy butter...
Sitting...
On your golden porcelain potty...
Drinking hot black coffee...
As the world falls out of your bottom!!!
