Wood Nymph

Garrett's Buck

The alarm goes off at 5:00AM

I'm getting up for one reason.

I saw a big buck yesterday

and today begins our deer-hunting season

The sun is not up yet as I arrive

and I sneak silently to my stand.

The sun bursts forth in splender

as I look proudly on my land.

I hear a sound thru the trees.

My heart pounds! I've got him in sight.

I get him in my scope and carefully aim,

squeeze trigger and hit him just right!

I proudly carried him home that day

and all my friends gathered around.

They wanted to hear all the details

about the big buck that I shot down.
