To my darling sister Ann who died on 17/7/07 from progressive supra-nuclear palsy, a rare and terrible disease. Also to all those who suffer its terrifying symptoms.
I heard you got your wings at last
I saw you flying swiftly past
I`m free you called so full of glee
Look at me - Oh Look at me.
In prison for so very long
Could not even sing a song
Not a whisper could you make
You had no choice just had to take
The horrible indignity
Yet inside - there was a `Me.
Now you move along with ease
Smell the flowers and feel the breeze
Taste the honey from the comb
All because God took you home
I shall not grieve for your old shell
That was just a living hell
You felt useless - just your mind
Could tell if anyone was kind
Big blue eyes that seemed to say
Thank you all - but I can`t stay.
Now you feel no ache or pain
At last you`re free to fly again
To sing along in Gods` own choir
Soaring high and ever higher
`Though it hurts I still can see
It`s for the best God set you free
