Smile through the Pain
Tears fall
But with a beam across your face;
You feel fortunate
To have been dealt such pain
Still just a person so small
But with large dreams to remain
It's like a high you cannot explain
To be able to smile
Through the pain
There were days
You did not think you would make it
But angels rested by your side
You lie awake and reminisce;
You count the times you've fallen down
And then you realize what you have accomplished
And smile through the pain
You know now that you have to crawl
Before you are able to climb
And that the dirt road you stumbled on
Has paved you a fresh highway
If ever you fall down again
Just be sure to fall forward
And never be ashamed
To smile through the pain
Now if ever in your sunshine,
It shall begin to rain
Just smile, my friend
Smile through the pain
