The Love Of My Life

~To My First Sweet Love~

When first I saw you under skies of blue

My lonely heart skipped a beat or two,

It was then my soul finally became aware

Of burning desires new lovers find so rare.

Your eyes caught mine as I walked by

Secret passion in them caused me to sigh,

If my heart had wings it would surely fly

Soaring to meet angels on clouds up high.

You belonged to another and was not free

But somehow I knew you were meant for me,

Destiny came into view when I first saw you

Our hearts now beat as one proving it true.

Life took you down a different path from me
Crossing it again when you were finally free,
Finding that our love was truly destined to be

Passion was returned to me as first I did see.
