One Flower Under A L.A. Freeway

geisha
Gomez, Snoopy the Cat, and Me ( ELC Courtyard, H'wood 1994)

Neighbor Gomez loved to dance with women
Held a job and fiancee'

Disease fell on his leg
Snapped it off like lightening to a tree branch
Dripped sap of liquor causing the liquidation of his life

But, he had "Snoopy" the cat, and he had me

He left behind a Hollywood courtyard of miracles and memories
A wonderland not in need of an Alice

But, he had "Snoopy" the cat, and he had me

Peach color roses, and pictures of his cats tossed into his coffin, as I stood there and watched him dance inside the tears I cried.

But, he had "Snoopy" the cat, and he had me.

P.S. "Snoopy" passed July 2007 at 16 years old.Thank you Melinda and Brian for giving him a good home for all those years! This one's for "Snoop", his brother cat "Runt". And the late Erasmo Gomez who had the grace and sunshine smile to be the only person to be like a Father to me, despite being minus a leg.
