 Virgin Mary

An angel appeared to Mary
God's Son she would carry
Just an ordinary young woman
Saved from sin but still human

This was the path He chose for her to trod
But Mary would never be equal with God
Only the Godhead are perfect Deity
In the past, present, and all eternity

She knew the Old Testament well
How Messiah would come to dwell
Now she was blessed to have a part
Of the redemption Jesus would impart

She was a willing and available servant
Even though she could never deserve it
She was uniquely chosen by God that day
It was a privilege to be honored this way

To put Mary on a higher pedestal is wrong
Joseph and Mary were equal parents all along
Some offer prayers to her saying the rosary
Jesus is our direct access and intermediary

The Bible does not tell us much about Mary
Her work on earth was finished after Calvary
Jesus is the One we are to worship and adore
He reigns at the right hand of God forevermore

1 Timothy 2:5-6 (NIV)
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man
Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men—the testimony
given in its proper time.
