Carol's Journey
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Knowing and Believing
There are people who know about
Many subjects without a doubt
They may believe in their mind
But it is not their passion they find

I can know about the parts of a car
But all of that only takes me so far
I do not believe I have the skills
So I cannot fix all of their ills

You may watch your son as he grows
He may be a world leader who knows
You may believe he can do anything
His heart has to be in the whole thing

An angel said Mary was the chosen one
She knew she would bear God's Son
She believed in her heart it was true
Knowing Jesus was her Savior, too

I can know about Jesus dying for my sin
And still not have Him living deep within
For I have to make a decision on my part
Choosing to believe and ask Him in my heart

You may have gone to church all your life
Doing your best to be free from all strife
You may even believe what the Scriptures say
But do you KNOW Him as your Savior today?

Luke 1:46-47 (NIV)
And Mary said: "My soul glorifies the Lord
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior."

John 6:40 (NIV)
Jesus said:  "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks
to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I
will raise him up at the last day."
