Heart Of The Matter
To Whom It May Concern
Today, I woke up later than the norm,
It's Saturday, the working week is gone,
Opened eyes to watch the falling rain,
Good morning world, I'm back on track again,
I lay awhile, the rainbow did appear,
Inclement weather for this time of year,
I long to feel the sun warm on my face,
And drift away to far and distant place,
I close my eyes, for weary is my mind,
Jumbled thoughts coerce, and leave me blind,
Hung over and bereft of tender feeling,
Events this week have left my senses reeling,
I've given up on so-called family,
Who turn and twist the knife so easily,
Forgiveness given time and time again,
I turn the other cheek, to feel more pain,
No more will I be hurt, I've had my fill,
You're not my next of kin,
I've changed the will!
