Heart Of The Matter
And All Is Well
Alarm clock rings,
And wakens me to morning,
A songbird sings,
I feel a new day dawning,
My eyes now open,
I can see the rain,
No need to rise,
I close my eyes again,
I do not sleep,
I relish my repose,
In limbo, half awake,
Contentment grows,
And all is well and quiet,
But for the rain,
That gently taps,
Upon the window pane.
