Heart Of The Matter
Quiet, And Undemanding
I'm quiet and undemanding,
I have an understanding,
For those in life that sometimes,
Lose their way …
I'm happy to be near you,
I listen and I hear you,
I'm hanging on,
To every word you say,
I love you mean and moody,
It makes me kind of broody,
I want to make you laugh,
To make you see,
You're raucous and appealing,
You leave my senses reeling,
And I know,
That what you really need,
Is me!
I know I'm independent,
You see me as resplendent,
The quality that drew you,
Close to me,
I don't want to be without you,
For you have an air about you,
That brings the greatest comfort,
To my day,
But I wonder if belonging,
Would decimate the longing,
And make me find a reason,
Not to stay.
