After SunsetAs dusk arrives a cool breeze plays on the childrens faces warm from the heat of the day Soon it will be night as the sun moves afar a navy blue sky with a mirade of stars Bird sound ceases the sunsets in sight all becomes quiet in the stillness of the night As the day is over and the children shut their eyes stories of the sandman fill their sleepy minds The moon is big and risen as an eerie glow falls around nature starts to change now as peace is all abound Gone now are the songbirds the larks go to their nests darkness now on birds and trees at this time sleep is best All creatures rest in their habitat as the world slows down to rest at sunset all is silent as the sun sinks in the west There is no fear in the darkness with sparkling stars in a navy velvet sky until the dawn appears again when the sun again is high (c) Trizia 2007 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
