Memories Of Dad
When I was a little girl
Dad talked about the world
Table all set for us to eat
I knew there would be a special treat
Dad's job was away
He had to stay
Always going to work
He wouldn't shirk
I got along with dad
At times he looked sad
To dad I could talk
He'd listen and we'd walk
No one was as good as my dad
Dad could fix anything we had
He carried a heavy load
Dad use to say, "it's a long hard road"
Then I didn't understand
I saw a mighty tall man
Who I looked up to
And knew what he'd say was true
My dad worked hard
He was our guard
Taking care of his family
He was always there for me
As I grew older not long
We didn't have much but enough
To keep the family strong
Not always getting the latest stuff
Respect, good manners were our ways
Those were the good old days
Today those days I remember yet
Memories I'll cherish and never forget
