Let's Unclutter The Curriculum
Let's unclutter the curriculum-
do a few things well-
like how to read and write and add
and multiply and spell.
Let's all get back to basics
and show how things all fit.
Let's strengthen the foundations
and throw out all the glitz.
Let's toss out all the tedious-
those ever growing tasks-
that mount and kill and suffocate
and make us fudge and mask.
Let's throw out all the filling-
those staged, monkey acts-
the pointless repetitions
and those useless changing facts.
Let's simplify and reinforce
and feel the job's well done-
enjoy what we are doing
and have a lot more fun.
