Today our soul does battle within
Frustrated thoughts that seem unforgiving
To write or to not, question without answer
To write of depression, mind boggling this cancer
Like you have read and have written maybe
A poem today that set your mind free
Of wars it has battled, in mind that's been tattered
Your way of writing, does it really matter?
You speak from the heart, but does anyone hear
The words you have written, maybe not is one's fear
To write just to write is it self gratifying
Or your S O S in letters time buying
You touched someones heart and maybe their soul
You gave them your hand with words they can hold
For writing is lonesome disguised with deep feelings
Putting smiles on some faces, on someone that needs healing
Positive spins and negative thoughts
Are born everyday in your eye that has caught
A picture worth writing, a thought so provoking
It challenges you on your chest it is poking
Drawing a line is much easier than said
What you want to write that goes on in your head
For somber the mood in you for today
Next time maybe better, you'll have something to say
