Perhaps you are feeling rather blue
But you just don't know what to do
The pressures of life weigh you down
Even your smile has turned to a frown
Answers are not simple in times like these
I will suggest this to put your mind at ease
When you are at your lowest, there is still hope
Contact a close friend, who will help you cope
Sharing your struggles begins to free your mind
A true friend will listen and not leave you in a bind
They may remain silent or have very little to say
Still they care and will support you in any way
Some people isolate themselves and want to be alone
I have learned that you cannot make it on your own
God created us with an inbuilt need for relationships
It is essential to have that meaningful companionship
People may disappoint you, even a very close friend
There is Someone who will always be there to the end
Jesus will be your Friend through your darkest hour
Do you know Him and are you relying on His power?
You can pray and ask Him now to come in your heart
He will take away your guilt and shame in every part
Your life will have new meaning and hope for each day
By His Spirit, you will have peace and joy in a new way
Satan will try hard to discourage you, but don't give in
You have the power to resist him, by His Spirit within
Praising and lifting up Jesus will cause Satan to flee
Quoting from God's Word will also make him leave
Satan, I am aware of your schemes and plans of attack
You are defeated, for God always watches my back
God will use all my poetry for His honor and glory
You cannot stop or keep me from spreading His story
