Heart Of The Matter
How Close You Are, This Night
Lost on a plateau,
In loves refrain,
Maps relinquished,
Un-required,
I take direction,
In the learning,
I am your pupil,
You, my sage,
Oh, how close you are,
This night,
All is quiet in our world,
But for the breeze,
Words remain unspoken,
Yet thoughts ring loudly,
Understood completely,
And with certainty,
Sighing, silently,
I lean on you,
Resting my head,
On a shoulder,
Placing my kiss,
On your face,
I smile blissfully,
Contented,
In the knowing,
How close you are,
This night.
