To be or not to be respected
Least of both to be expected
You lose some friends and gain new ones
Families will feud, always someone
Will find a fault, that hairline crack
That you forgive but don't get back
We seem to find all the wrong words
Obsessed judgement sometimes absurd
For use later that cut real deep
Hurting a soul, in them that weeps
All should choose wise when words are spoken
Damage occurs when your hearts broken
Expecting more than you were given
From hypocrites that you've forgiven
Judge me not, it's not your place
Human mistake, some will disgrace
Yet if they took the time to see
Mirrored in them is some of me
We give our best, sometimes fall short
It's just the way life will distort
Feelings for one who you once knew
Picked up the pieces and helped you through
