Meaningful Thoughts

The new and the now

From the end of summer to my surprise
I found a mate through all the lies.
Like the beating of our hearts,
My hopes took a steady rise,
and on we went with our happy lives.

I kissed her in the rain.
She kissed me in the night.
I kissed to take away her pain.
She kissed to make me feel alright.

When Autumn fell and winter rose.
Our love began to really show.
She said she loved me truly so,
and I truly thought our love would grow.
She warmed me up down to my toes,
while we stood and faced what winter throws.

We kissed in the snow.
We kissed where no one knows.
We kissed each other on the nose.
We kissed together for bashful crowes.

In spring, where nature rings,
and life is what the earth brings.
Her love died and turned to dreams,
and on I went with all my things.
She spoke to me first with only her eyes.
Then mistook my love for lonely lies.
