(dedicated to the blessed robert Mugabe and his happy band of thugs)

oh he lined them up in columns
and he lined them up in rows
one side for the yeses
one side for the noes

then the leader spoke to all
he was gentle he was kind
just wanted to know each
had made up his own mind

when he‘d finished speaking
they had another little tally
for this was after all
a democratic rally

it was still undecided
but he knew what to do
he went to the noes
and he shot just one or two

the gap between the opposing  sides
just narrowed and was suddenly gone
and instead of two groups
they now had only the one

and the vote got carried quickly
and he ruled on for many a day
folk will listen to reason
if you just show them the way
