Poetic Verses
Word That Be Thine
Oh yes, how I long now to read the word
to graze and savor the print with mine eyes
A need profound but is it so absurd
to gaze to ponder and to memorize
Each word is a treasure that I behold
like gold and pearls that dazzle in my mind
The syllables, the rhyme, a statement bold
these gifts are riches of another kind
Poetry, magic and excitement fill
my heart with joy and take me far away
to journey places without leaving still
the humble abode where I dwell today
To read such word is my pleasure divine
I thank the Lord for the word that be thine
