Heart Of The Matter
When Thunderbolt and Lightning Met
Thunderbolt and lightning strike,
Stand head to head and like to like,
Love to hate you, hate to love,
Gentle touch from iron glove,
Steely eyes glare in the night,
Gazing, goading, fight or flight,
Standing tall, defiant yet,
When thunderbolt and lightning met,
Tempest tortures woeful heart,
Tender torment at the start,
Flying, fleeing from the storm,
Driving deep, the soul stays warm,
Yet bitter cold the jealous soul,
Guarded, cautious, on the whole,
They die in truth, who live a lie,
And fail to see the sparrow fly,
Yet fly she must, to heaven's gate,
On words of love, in place of hate,
The sparrow sails on eagle wing,
And seeks the one, who would be king,
In truth, she craves her one desire,
Pours water on the blazing fire,
Pride and passion paid her debt,
When thunderbolt; and lightning met.
