BUTTERFLY
Oh little grub
Innocuously attached to tree bark
Biding its time
And sleeping
Sleep
Allowing nurture
Nurture
Allowing life
Moist wings
Gossamer thin
And lustrous
Creep defiantly
From abandoned shell
And open to the light
A miracle with golden wings
Burnished to sparkle
As it floats
Through warm summer breath
