(looks tame … but the noise is thunderous!)

From Perthshire to Shropshire,
Quite a distance away,
There's a Bold Lad called Gordie,
Now what can I say?

He writes of the gentry,
Some fine Chardonnay,
Whereas I'm into plastic,
And cheap Beaujolais,

He's partial to salmon,
A bit of the Brie,
Whilst I'm into Haddock,
Blue Stilton for me,

And as the wind blows the barley,
Way down Lednock Glen,
He will speak of his travels,
To Arran and then …

We'll pack up the hamper,
(I'll leave him with the dishes,)
And as he heads back to Shropshire,
I'll blow him some kisses!
