I know my time is coming but I never know when
But my dear friend I see you have tried but failed again
You are exactly 2 months out to the very day
But I am safe and sound now here in the UK
I saw on the news the earthquake in Peru
And knew straight away, that it was you
400 people dead in the exact place where I stayed
But I escaped your clutches yet again I am afraid
However that didn't stop my sadness when I read and saw
The place I slept at and I where I ate and drank, all crumbled to the floor
And yes the hairs on the back of my neck stood up cold and firm
But we have been here before death. I thought you would learn
Remember in 2000 when I was in Bali all those years ago
And in 2002 there was a bomb that killed everyone in that disco
And amongst the rubble I saw my hostel smashed and crumbled
Awe Death you little trickster you have been rumbled
And lets not forget in 2004 when you caused that tsunami
Across Indonesia and Thailand trying to kill me
Yes I was there at the same beach that caused such despair
But I had returned several months earlier and luckily wasn't there
And lets not forget recently when you tried to kill me on that bus ride
I know what you're thinking Death ‘that I can run but cannot hide'
And maybe it is not you after me but me leaving a curse?
But I know that's you planting thoughts in me, just being perverse
I know that one day you'll catch up with me, as this is natures course
But until then my bony friend, f**k you and your pale horse!
