An innocent victim is spotted
Foraging
Scuttling around long blades of reed near waters edge
In hope of finding a tiny morsel
Yet, high above,
You are on the menu
A bird with sweeping wingspan has you in sight
If only you realised
You would run for cover
Hide in lush undergrowth
Until he was bored and disappeared
Instead, his eagle eye has you spotted and
He waits his moment
No breeze,
No sound,
And he swoops,
Lifting you skyward by the scruff of your neck
