I found myself back at my old stomping ground
And a totally changed place is what I found,
Old familiar sights were nowhere to be seen
Not a trace of where I had ever been.
My old house had been knocked down and new ones built
I bet it was done without a shred of guilt,
There is no sentiment in business they say
In doing that they took my birth place away.
And when I sit and look at the old park gates
I think I hear the shouts of my old play mates,
But gone are the times that we would play
They`re back in the past where they have to stay.
It`s the end of an era I sit and think
To my childhood and past it`s my only link,
Everything`s changed, for nothing stays the same
It`s progress they say, it`s the name of the game.
