NIGHT FRIGHT

Had a terrifying experience that drove me to tears,
Completely overwhelming it encompassed all my fears;
At one point I found myself tottering on a ledge,
The sheer drop to death set my teeth on edge;

Felt danger at my heels, my body heavy as molasses,
In the thickening gloom, I suddenly lost my glasses!
Grotesque shapes in the shadows were eerie and hazy,
I groped wildly in the dark, fright driving me crazy;

I very cautiously crept into a dimly-lit cave,
Looking around frightfully, I sure wasn't brave;
Got the shock of my life, a most horrible scare,
There were writhing bodies and corpses everywhere;

My heart raced wildly as I became more frantic,
I stood there almost paralyzed with panic;
No longer able to stand all the blood and gore,
I woke up screaming on my bedroom floor!
