Carol's Journey
Email Poem | Today's Poetry

 Facing Adversity
Adversity takes on many forms
That God uses as ways to conform
It may be very painful at the time
We draw closer to His Spirit divine

Consider a rose bush pruned back
Still its beauty does not lack
The thorns cut into the skin
So it is with our lives within

God allows trials in our life
They may cut like a knife
Often causing us grief and pain
In the end, we have much to gain

Trusting God is a choice
It is listening to His voice
When life is hard and tough
We learn His strength is enough

Realizing that He is in control
We can go through sorrows that roll
Casting on Him our every care
We know that He is always there

What is God trying to teach you?
Are you willing to trust Him too?
Fighting through your circumstance
Will not allow God to have a chance

He wants to make you like His Son
Allow His will in your life to be done
Learn to rejoice in your times of trial
Don't try to escape as a way of denial

James 1:2-3 (AMP)
Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are
enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into
various temptations.  3 Be assured and understand that
the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance
and steadfastness and patience.
