I do remember a few years ago
Much to my regret little did I know
That the weaver fish lurked beneath the sand
Waiting for unsuspecting feet to land.
And I was the one to find this out
When I stood on it I gave a shout,
I thought I had stood on a broken shell
Boy was I wrong and time it did tell.
I walked in the surf ignoring the pain
I just hoped in time that it would wane,
Unable hardly to even stand
I started heading for the dry sand.
The more I walked I soon realized
That my leg was becoming paralyzed,
Yes the pain was bad it hurt like hell
A lady came to me and this she did tell.
"You have been bitten by a weaver fish my Dear
It`s spreading poison up your leg, but don`t fear,
There are two things to remedy this
One is hot water or you can urinate".
Into hot water I plunged my foot
Soothing where the weaver fish had cut,
How quickly the pain eased I was amazed
I then had to sit with my foot raised.
I`ve told you now about the secret cure
So you need not be in pain any more,
For if you`re bitten by a weaver fish
Put your foot in hot water in a deep dish.
