 The World goes on
The World goes on

Every day things happen
most pass hardly noticed at all
others have dire consequences
and we pray for those they befall

These too soon pass forgotten
as life it still goes on
back to normal life becomes
as memories fade until gone

Nature is unchallenged in it's power
storms reaking havoc at times
these getting worse in intensity
leaving major devastation behind

Wars grow fuelled by peoples hatred
an ending is never in sight
many perish again and again
but none will give up the fight

Floods leave people homeless
tsunamis ready to strike
climatic changes everywhere
no end to this in sight

Surely we need to take notice
try to bring peace to our times
instead of being complacent
we should study the signs

For one day it may happen
that every hope is gone
no more for us a second chance
as the World stops going on
