Heart Of The Matter

Contradictory

The orchestra plays mournfully it seems,
And tempering the joyous summer scene,
So classical the melody of dreams,
An ambiance that's gentle and serene,

The notes that take you high will bring you low,
Akin to riding horses on a shore,
Pull on the reins to make the journey slow,
Then slacken, when your need's a little more,

In time the mournful song comes to an end,
The final note will taper into time,
You step into the silence, somehow blend,
The feeling, one of reverence, sublime,

So classical the melody of dreams,
Contradictory; to joyful summer scenes.
