 DAISY   FIELD

As far as my eye can view
A calming sea of white heads with innocent little yellow faces
Patiently stretching for a lick of sunshine
Shoulder to shoulder
A bright glowing audience
Standing in the breeze and
Gently swaying in unison
To silent air music

The traffic of birds upon high
Scooting through low clouds
And descending to smile

Skyward trees
Their branches applauding the summer's day and
Sweet clover nestling in corners

An inquisitive friesian peers over the fence of a neighbouring field
Salivating at a luscious meal
Chewing the cud
And wafting busy flies with its tail

I walk through this sea
And sit amidst its fragrance
Out of my depth in
A calming sea of white heads with innocent little yellow faces
