Waiting
Mom you spoke of
So much love
I heard your voice breaking
As the leaves were shaking
Long ago everything was in its prime
The ending of a time
You said they took my old car away
Yes, they took it today
Mom you only
Becoming lonely
Getting older
Weight on your shoulders
My heart goes out to you
Time now due
You're going to move away
You'll stay
With family and others
You said my brother
Isn't coming home
No more will he roam
Mom I'm still often crying
You enduring dad and brother's dying
Legacies, traditions that memories bring
Years of accumulating things
Glory will come to you in the morn
As surely as your four children were born
Mom it is you that I love
You like a peaceful dove
Will rise up and take flight
Loving us all morning, noon, and night
Dad in his eminent voice
Saying you're making a wise choice
Dad would agree
For we all see
You've held on strong and long
One day you'll sing a heavenly song
It's true
Dad is waiting for you
The two of you in perfect unity
Together forever through all eternity
