Of Broken Dreams and Promises
They seem so real, when closing eyes
Taking to flight, like Butterflies
When dream you do, all seems so right
All yours to keep, hold unto tight
You see those loved that passed away
Asleep, you soul wanders and strays
Into a world bathing itself
In faded moments, your heart once felt
Climbing long steps, in Heaven soar
Above white clouds that pass before
You fall freely and land again
On your two feet at home with friends
Your rich in dreams, but poor in life
You find true love, maybe a wife
As sleep brings one closer to dreams
Promise broken, awake they seem
Love comes to call, on your hearts door
Open one sees, those you adore
Asleep the state that dreams govern
Wishes come true, all those we yearn
Sometimes walking in some abyss
Of fog seems like on air we're whisked
Into a realm of fairy tales
Where ships leave port, on board you sail
Your childhood bursts upon the scene
For a brief moment, that bully mean
Will get what they had coming then
A knuckle sandwich, now your best friend
Dreams and promises may go broken
But your heart rides without a token
The trains, buses, that take you to
Another place and time you knew
