Our Own Desires
You quench the thirst of burning fires,
By obeying selfish desires;
With idols you have given your trust,
For satisfying your worldly lust.
Your earthly desires are the foes,
Which you are adding upon your woes;
That is accumulating as strife,
And is tormenting you in your life.
You are yielding to immoral ways.
Deteriorating society these days;
Making you to become more flawed,
As you drift further away from God.
Selfishness and jealous behavior,
Keeping you away from your Savior;
A wall blocks you from your salvation,
Causing spiritual starvation.
Let the Holy Spirit be your guide,
Confess so He will cleanse you inside;
And He chases away any doubt,
As to what Heaven is all about.
