Are We Truly Home
Somewhere brave veterans from the past stand
Military men two hundred and thirty years old wait
They stood there in 1776 again in 1865 watching both sides
Sending their brave ones to join in the watch
Then came the great world war of the year 1918
By the thousands the ranks swelled
Silently waiting hoping for no more
But alas 1941 started it all again
Proud men of God of Faith and Country they stood
While more came from a place called Korea
Hoping for an end praying for it to stop
Till they saw more coming from Vietnam
Almost twenty years then the desert storm came
A bloody war still raging today
When I cross over to those brave souls
I hope to be accepted to stand and salute
All that will come after
To join the ranks of veterans
Who have stood from century to century
To welcome our fallen brothers truly home
