 PUDDLE    PLAY

Rain had flowed incessantly
Creating puddles
The size of small lakes
A group of young boys
Were in their element
A pair of wellies was all it would take

Ruddy faces writ in glee
As they raced down the lane
Picking stones
Throwing to shower and splash
Jumping in
Delivering a watery crash

Sopped to the skin
Their clothes clinging tight
But the smiles on those wee faces
Unadulterated delight
