Anatomy Of A Poem
It starts with love nurtured in one
Where rising moons and setting suns
Would grant passage, unveiling thoughts
That come to mind, and others brought
It squirms it's way just like a seed
Planted in earth, off soul it feeds
Just like a child, it makes its way
Born of the words, I'm here to say
I love your smile and tenderness
How could we live with nothing less
Prayers that keep and speak the need
To bring comfort, to guide and lead
To pull a string, windup your heart
Making it new and time to start
Changing the feel that someone stole
The thought you kept and trails gone cold
Of simple whims and better days
Of childhood rushed that wants to stay
Pouring oneself upon a page
Where peace resides with war engaged
You press yourself against the glass
With hope someone looking at last
Would see beauty, verbal and true
Reading these monsters, that grow in you
