Red, White & Blue and You, Some Gave All (a soldiers letter home)
Letter from a soldier to his mom...
Dear Mom,
I know when I was a baby you worked
hard to keep me from harm,
Writing this letter I don't mean
to send an alarm,
You see, I miss Dad and my mother,
My sister and my brother.
Alone I sit in this foreign land,
Giving America a helping hand,
I'm staying strong Mom for the
red, white and blue,
But that doesn't mean I'll ever
stop missing you.
From your heart, you gave all,
Through thick and thin you stood tall,
I know now your pain with raising me,
I feel it everyday fighting to stay free,
I still love the red, white and blue,
but never more than I love you.
I wrote this letter and gave it to a friend,
told him to keep it until the end,
If anything happens to me he's to give
it to you,
Remember it's for the red, white and blue.
So by now you know mom what this letter
is about,
There's one thing I don't want you ever
to doubt,
I promised to stand strong and tall,
when you receive this letter you'll
know I gave it my all.
I did it for the red, white and blue,
Most of all I did it for you.
