Fragile stalks of life
A garden pest to any other
Though to me
In fields
A beautiful sight
Clustered in bold yellow patches they
Bring a sunshine smile
Swaying in accompaniment to the breeze
Drying
Leaving feather-like ghostly white fronds
Whispery fingers reach
Outward to the air
Seeds carried in the waft and
Strewn for miles
Along hedgerow and ditches
And wasteland
And time
