I woke up this morning with a sense of new purpose
The sun was shining and I felt full of beans
If going to bed prematurely had caused that
Then I shall retire early for regular sweet dreams
To make sure that the day could only get better
A breakfast of muesli and fresh pineapple seemed fair
Considering I always thought muesli was horse feed
This drastic change in attitude I was fully aware
Before I knew it I was lacing my trainers
"Don't be silly: me go for a run!"
I was pounding the pavements, though red-faced
"Hang on: I think I'm having fun!"
Returned home and adrenalin was still surging
Quite light-headed though virtuous in thought
Decided to finish my work-out with
One of those giant inflatable orbs that I'd bought
Now that move was tantamount to giving me roller-blades
Anything with small wheels or round shape and I'm at a loss
Before I touched the darn thing I was in orbit
Prostrate over the patio and all because
So the afternoon saw me draped over sun lounger
My tired trainers lay there at my side
Tomorrow if I wake with that ridiculous idea
I shall talk myself to staying indoors and hide
